What this converter does

This converter turns cubic feet per minute into cubic metres per minute and back instantly. One CFM is 0.02832 CMM, so the two share the same per-minute time base and differ only by the foot-to-metre volume ratio. Type a value and read it as you type.

It also covers m³/h and litres per second. For the hourly metric rate, see the CFM to m³/h converter.

02

The units it covers

Both are volumetric airflow rates with a fixed value in cubic metres per second, so the conversion is a single multiplication.

The formula

Each unit has a fixed value in cubic metres per second, so converting between any two is one step:

Conversion
result = value × factor_from ÷ factor_to

Where:

  • value = the number you typed
  • factor_from = the “from” unit’s value in m³/s
  • factor_to = the “to” unit’s value in m³/s

Worked example

Convert 2,000 CFM to CMM.

Step 1 · The factor
1 CFM = 0.0283168 CMM
Step 2 · Multiply
2,000 × 0.0283168 = 56.63 CMM

So 2,000 CFM equals about 56.6 CMM of airflow.

The units in this example

Cubic foot per minutesymbol: CFM

The US airflow rate, standard for fan and duct ratings.

Common airflow conversions
  • 1 CFM = 0.02832 CMM
  • 1 CFM = 1.699 m³/h
  • 1 CFM = 0.4719 L/s
  • 100 CFM = 2.832 CMM
Cubic metre per minutesymbol: CMM

A metric airflow rate on the same per-minute base as CFM, used for large-volume flow.

Common airflow conversions
  • 1 CMM = 35.31 CFM
  • 1 CMM = 60 m³/h
  • 1 CMM = 16.67 L/s
